Prof.S.N.Gupta, a graduate from banaras Hindu University obtained his Bachler's,Master's and Doctorate degree in 1965,1968 and 1974 respectively. He joined the Mechanicall Engineering faculty of the BHU in 1965 as a Associate Lecturer.He left for U.K.. in 1978 to work as post-doctoral Fellow at Imperial College,London. In 1981,he joined the University of Trondheim,Norway in the Divisuion of Thermodynamics as a Visiting Acadamic..After returning to India Dr.Gupta rejoined the BHU and from where he retired in 2005. Before joining Bharat Institute of Technology,Meerut in November 2007 as director, Planning and Developement Prof. Gupta was Director, Meerut Institute of Engineeing & Technology , Meerut.

   Professor Gupta is an eminent educationist and researcher enjoying a high international reputation in his field..He has supervised four Ph.D. thesis , thirty M.Tech. dissertations and has published 41 research papers in national and international journals of repute.

    He has been the member Academic council of UPTU Lucknow and currently is the convener of the RDC (Mechanical Engineering)) of this University.
