Prof. D. K. Matta, a university gold medalist, joined the Indian Armed Forces in the Electronics and Mechanical Engineers Corps in 1975 as a Technical Graduate in the Electronics stream after completing his M.Tech. Program from Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi.
   During the commissioned service of approximately three decades, he has held varied appointments while serving in the field as well as static units, hence has vast experience of administrative and technical field to his credit. While serving in Army, he has done number of management and technical courses in the field of electronics and was sponsored for MBA course which he did with Distinction in 1997 from Institute of Management Studies, Indore. Later, he did Ph.D. 2001 from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore.
    Prof. Matta took–up academic pursuit as Director IIMT Engineering College, Meerut soon after his supernnuation on 31 Oct 2003 and served till 31 Jan 2006. He joined B.I.T., Meerut, for the present assignments w.e.f. 01 Feb 2006. He is a Member of Institution of Engineers, Calcutta and Fellow Member of Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, New Delhi.
