Navigator Robot
REJUVENATE
Build a manual robot which can traverse any terrain. In all make an “ALL TERRAIN” robot which can cross any type of obstacles which comes in its path, be it mud, gravel, sand etc.
ROBOT SPECIFICATIONS AND GENERAL RULES
- The robot should be manual. It can be wired or wireless as according to the choice of the team.
- Team size should be maximum of three member.
- The dimensions of the robot at any point during the run should not increase 30cms X 30cms X 30cms.
- The maximum allowable voltage would be 24V at any point during the run.
- A supply of 220V would be provided by the organizers. The teams would have to arrange for their own adapters.
- If the robot is wired then the length of the wire connecting the remote and the robot should be at least 5 meters.
- The minimum distance between the two legs of the robot should be 15cms.
- The robots would be checked for their dimensions and adapters voltage before the run.
- The decision of the organizers incase of any conflict would be final.
- The robot should not harm the arena, in such case the team would be disqualified.
ARENA SPECIFICATION
The arena has been shown in the figure displayed below:
- The arena has been divided into a number of parts labeled from (a) to (f).
- The part colored as black in the whole arena represent plane surface, with no undulation made of plaster of Paris or wood.
- The brown surface labeled (a) represents area covered by sand. The total length of this area is 2 feet.
- The grey surface labeled (b) represents area covered by stones or gravels. The total length of this area is 2 feet.
- The green surface labeled (c) represents inclined plane with angle of inclination less than 30 degrees. It is divided into 2 parts. C.1 is the inclined up and down, connected with the yellow surface. C.2 is the inclined towards the finish line of the arena.
- The yellow surface labeled as (d) represents rumble strips made of wood. The total length of this surface is1.5 feet.
- The orange surface labeled as (e) represents marshy mud. The total length of this surface 1.5 feet.
- The blue surface labeled as (f) represents water. The total width at any point of water tank is 15cms.
- The gap between c.2 and FINISH is a gap of 0.75 feet.
- The red and purple dots represent stones. Red stones are compulsory to be touched while the purple stones are not to be touched.
ARENA RULES
The whole event will be divided into two stages. The preliminary round and the finals. The arena rules for preliminary round is as follows-
- The robot has to begin from the START point. The finishing point of this round will be the plane containing the purple stones.
- The robot will be judged according to the amount of time taken to finish.
- In this round if the robot traces any wrong path or comes out of arena then 5 seconds will be deducted.
- The top 10 teams will qualify for the final round
The arena rules for the final round is as follows:-
- The robot has to begin from the START point. The finishing point will be as written on the arena.
- In this round the robot will be judged on the basis of points gained. If any two robots have same points at the end of round then there will be a knockout round.
- The points given for crossing each plane surface after touching the red stones is 50 points.
- The points given for crossing (a), (b), (c), (d) and (e) surfaces are 100 each.
- The point given for crossing the plane containing purple stones are 130.
- After crossing the orange surface, the teams have two options. Either to jump over the green inclined surface or to cross the water bridge.
- If the robot jumps and crosses the finish line then the team will be awarded with 200 points. If the robot topples in between then 100 points will be deducted and team will have to restart from the orange surface. Only 3 chances to jump will be given, if not availed then the team gets disqualified.
- If the team chooses to cross the water bridge then it will be awarded 180 points. The distance between the two black bridges over the water is 15cms all over. Three chances will be given to cross this surface else the tem will be disqualified
Rules
- Team Size:- 3 members.
- Event is based on robotics(wire/wireless).
